From Eigapedia
Toru Kamei (亀井亨 Kamei Toru) (born 1969) is a Japanese film director, editor, and screenwriter. He attended Nippon Designer Gakuin before dropping out for a video production job. He then worked as an assistant director for several years on films including Gun Crazy: A Woman from Nowhere and Antenna before eventually getting his chance to direct small projects like the 2003 made-for-TV horror film The Last Coffin. He made his theatrical debut with Double Suicide Elegy in 2005, which netted him three film festival prizes and launched his career to a new level.
He is not to be confused with the drummer of the Japanese rock band Grapevine, who shares the same name.
